ASSIGNMENTS
Thursday, 4/17:
- Read the chapter on Mexico
- STUDY the tests over Iran and Nigeria
- Come in on Tuesday prepped and pumped to move to review mode!!
Tuesday, 4/15:
- Complete the quiz on Nigeria. Bring me 30 CORRECT ANSWERS!!
- Review the quiz on Iran
- Do any reading that you did not do over break
eWEEK & SPRING BREAK ASSIGNMENT:
- Read the packets on Iran and Nigeria THOROUGHLY. Take notes, highlight, whatever!
- Supplement your reading with the Hauss textbook as well.
- Make sure your are CLEAR on the concepts presented in these new chapters, including basic concepts of the Islamic faith that will play HUGE roles in our discussion about politics in the region.
Tuesday 3/25:
- Research the political issue (in China) surrounding Tibet
- also research the Falun Gong movement & know how it may connect somewhat to the Tibet issue
Thursday 3/13:
- Read the two outside sources by Tuesday
- Have chapter on Russia COMPLETELY READ by Tuesday and
- Start reading the Chapter on China
- ONLY 5 WEEKS OF CLASSES BEFORE THE EXAM IS HERE!!!!
Thursday 3/6:
- Read "The Communist Manifesto" by Tuesday. TAKE NOTES & BE ABLE TO DISCUSS
- Create some kind of artifact (your choice) that shows me you got it...basically summarize the concepts.
- Complete any test corrections you wish to have boost your Quarter 3 Grade. DUE TUESDAY FIRST THING.
Tuesday 3/4:
- Read complete packet on Communism handed out today. Be able to discuss more on Thursday
- Finish reading Hauss Ch. 8 as well. (began last week)
Tuesday 2/26:
- Start reading Chapter 8 in Hauss. We will be starting our study of Past and Present Communist regimes on Thursday (focusing on Russia and China). We'll cover Chapter 9 next.
- Double-check that you have all work turned in. I still have some folks who need to make up a quiz or turn in their article research from Great Britain. GET IT IN NOW so it doesn't kill your quarter grade.
Tuesday 2/12:
- FINISH reading the European Union chapter in the text.
- FINISH ANSWERING your EU questions...IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM DONE FOR THURSDAY you'll feel SILLY!!!
- CONTINUE reviewing your UK & EU notes for the upcoming Unit 1 Test...probably Thursday of next week.
Thursday 2/7:
- Have your EUROPEAN UNION QUESTIONS answered & ready to discuss on Tuesday.
- We will have a quick quiz on Great Britain on Tuesday as well.
Tues 1/22:
- Complete your reading of Chapter 4: Great Britain
- Spend time browsing the government's (Prime Minister specifically) website at 10 Downing Street
Tues 1/15
- Finish reading Ch. 2 so we can finish Odes & Poster on Thursday.
- Answer Critical Thinking questions 1-6 on page 46 of text.
- Read the Essentials of CP Ch. 1 packet assigned today. Be ready for discussion (points) on Thursday.
1/8:
- Print yourself a copy of the course syllabus & Student/ Parent Contract
- Fill out, sign (you and your parent/guardian) the contract, turn it in on Thursday
